THAT YOU MAY KNOW, Don Huddleston Teacher, Room 111

This will be a class on apologetics–the evidence for that which we believe and proclaim.  Specifically it will be a study of the evidence for the claim that Jesus is the Son of God and the hope of eternal life for those who believe in him.  The material has been adapted from Ed Wharton’s video series, Historical Christian Evidences.  Wharton was a longtime apologetics teacher for the Sunset International Biblical Institute in Lubbock, Texas.

PRACTICAL CHRISTIANITY: Study of 1st & 2nd Peter, John Summers Teacher, Room 113

Unlike the sometimes challenging writings of Paul, Peter wrote these two short letters regarding the Christian lifestyle that are easy to understand and apply.  In simple and exciting ways, the apostle Peter lays out many qualities of the Christian life we all need to follow.  In this study Peter brings us to better understand the “living stone” we now serve as our Master and why it is so important to follow his pattern for Christian living.  Come and learn about the life of faith that is “more precious than gold” and will result in eternal praise to the Father and our Savior

A TEENAGER’S EVERYDAY PROBLEMS, Dennis Fulks Teacher, Basement Classroom

The teen class will continue studying this year’s Pearls Study (Lads to Leaders) entitled “The Lord Has Done This.”  We will be studying about Christian Evidences as they relate to Job and other areas of the Bible.

Wednesday 7:00 p.m.

DO YOU KNOW?  Don Huddleston Teacher, Room 112

Continuing with an emphasis upon evangelism, our Wednesday night class will provide training on how to use the gospel material, Do You Know?  This material–three easy-to-use booklets– is easy to learn and simple to use.   The material is based on Jesus’ claim in John 14:6, and makes clear why and how Jesus is “the way, the truth, and the lie.”  If you want to bring others to Christ and to be ready when the opportunity comes, be sure to take advantage of this class.

THE UNSEEN WORLD AROUND US, Dennis Fulks Teacher, Auditorium

Ephesians 6:12 indicates to us that there is a very active world of happenings going on all around us which we cannot see with our human eyes.  This is the spiritual realm that we know exists by our faith in what the Bible tells us about it.  If we could look into this realm we would see God, Christ, the Holy Spirit, angels–both good and bad–Satan, and possibly demons.  How much do we actually know about the spiritual entities that exist all around us?  How do they interact with us?  On Wednesday nights we will meet in the auditorium and try to cut through the myths and find biblical truths about these entities in order to expand our knowledge on the subject.

LADS TO LEADERS STUDY,  Todd Burlie Teacher, Basement Classroom

The theme for the 2016-2017 year is from Ruth 3:5, “All That You Say To Me, I Will Do.”  The thought behind the theme is to encourage everyone to have an overall attitude and mindset of being a servant, and doing for others first.  The Bible bowl and Pearls Study will be over the books of Ruth, Esther and Job.  This will be an intense study of these Old Testament masterpieces and based on the New King James Version.  The winter quarter will focus on Esther and Ruth, where we will look at God’s providential role in the lives of these two women, and how He can work in our life as well.
