Sabrina Renae Cromwell
November 16, 1962 – December 5, 2009
Our sister Sabrina Cromwell passed away Saturday, December 5th after fighting cancer for more than a year. She had been a member of the Hartford family since the mid 90’s. Though she faced many trials in life, she tried hard to stay close to the church.
Sabrina was born in Roswell, New Mexico but soon afterwards, her family moved to the Moore, Oklahoma area, where she grew up in the country, falling in love with horses. She graduated from Moore High School and met her husband, James Cromwell while living and working in Great Bend, Kansas. They were married in October of ’92, and were blessed with a son in August of of 95. They moved to Ponca City in the mid 1990’s and she became a member of the Hartford church. In addition to her love of horses, Sabrina also enjoyed reading, water sports, swimming. While living in Ponca City, she sold real estate for a few years, but preferred to helping train horses which she did for several people in the area. She also served as a substitute teacher at McCord School for several years.
She learned in October of 2008 that she had cancer of the brain, but tests revealed that the cancer had traveled there from other places, and she was also diagnosed with cancer of the lungs. She underwent many radiation and chemotherapy treatments, but fell victim to pneumonia.
We will miss this young, lively sister. She leaves behind her husband James and son Heath (14), and one sister, Marci, plus a favorite uncle, Bill Heaton of Tulsa and one aunt, Janet Barton of Oklahoma City. She will especially be missed by her three neices, Laryn, Falyn and Ralyn Dodd. She is shown above with her horse, Cherokee.
A memorial service was held for Sabrina on Saturday, December 12th.
