LUIS SORI CANCIO
Pictured here is Luis Sori Cancio, and his family. His wife’s name is Maydee (pronounced My-dee), and their sons. John Lee is married and lives in Sancti Spiritus but comes often to visit family and assist in the work there. A fourth son, Yosvel, is also married and currently lives in Honduras where he is enrolled at the Baxter Bible Institute to receive training in ministry. Luis and his family moved to the historic city of Trinidad in 2001 to help establish a congregation of the church. Today there are about forty to fifty people meeting regularly each week with the church. A vibrant, young, exciting church not only exists in Trinidad, but it is thriving and beginning to spread to other areas.
Brother Luis is a graduate of Atlantic International Bible Institute (Sunset Branch operating out of Miami, FL with classes in Havana). He is a faithful worker, well-known and respected within the community, and by brethren throughout Cuba. The church meets in their home, which he has renovated extensively to provide the necessary space. They have been slowly accumulating more materials for further renovations so they can increase the size of the meeting place. Like many Cuban Christians, they have no automobile, and no way to get to the market or to their teaching appointments except by walking or very limited use of public transportation. The sons are all Christians, and very active in the work. They love to sing and harmonize exceptionally well! Hartford is blessed to be able to work with brethren like Luis and his family
