Robert H. Thacker

March 31, 1937 – December 30, 2011

We are so thankful that we answered that call!  The phone rang and it was a sister-in-Christ named Shelly Tanner, calling with reference to her brother Bob.  He was in the local hospital, critically ill and was open to talking to someone about getting right with the Lord.  His three sisters from Kentucky had driven all the way to attend to his needs and knew his greatest need was for forgiveness.  After a visit with Robert, in which God’s simple plan of salvation was shared and eagerly embraced, it wasn’t long until Bob was ready to be baptized into Christ.  Permission was granted by the hospital for him to leave the hospital, and on Sunday afternoon, December 4th, he was baptized into Christ!  While his “inner man” had been reborn, the old fleshly body continued to get weaker, and a few weeks later, on December 29th, he breathed his last, but praise God, he died in Christ!  May God receive all of the praise.
