Wynne Elena Hawkins, 82, formerly of Ponca City, passed away on Friday, January 17, 2014 at Gulfside Hospice in Zephyrhills, Florida. Elena was born in Walters, Oklahoma on March 10, 1931 to Mylor Estep and Nettie Jones Estep. Elena moved from Ponca City to Zephyrhills, FL in May of 2012 and resided at Westbrooke Manor.
Elena retired from GHR Manufacturing in Ponca City after 25 years as a seamstress. She was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ, with 50 years in Ponca City. She volunteered for various church related and civic organizations.
Elena was preceded in death by her parents, brother Henry Estep and sister Venita Harris. She was also preceded by several half and step brothers and sisters; George Collins, Thomas Estep, Joe Estep, Leroy Estep, Eula Willingham, Mina Hall, Flora Martin and Vada Martin.
Elena is survived by her brother Wayne Estep of Mangum. She is also survived by her two children; Paula Clymore and husband Garland of Albuquerque, NM; David Hawkins and wife Rhonda and grandchildren, Abbie Hawkins and Sam Hawkins of Wesley Chapel, FL.
Memorial Services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Monday, February 17, 2014 at Hartford Avenue Church of Christ in Ponca City, OK with Mr. Don Huddleston officiating.
