Patricia A. Patterson Meek

Patricia Patterson Meek passed away on January 22, 2015 at Ponca City Medical Center. She was born in Pawnee, Oklahoma on January 22, 1932 to Leonard J. and Verna W. Sackett. Pat was raised in Ponca City, Oklahoma where she graduated from Ponca City High School in 1950. In August of 1950, following her graduation, she married Waldo C. Patterson. Together they had 3 children, 9 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren. They were married 40 years.

Pat enjoyed being with her family, reading, word puzzles, and counted cross stitch. She was also captivated by Great Britain and was able to visit there on three occasions. She was a founding member of the Hartford Avenue Church of Christ and was also a member of the ladies Red Hat Society. Pat had worked for many years at Conoco in the marketing and accounting department.

For health reasons, Pat has been residing at Shawn Manor Nursing Home for the past few years. While there she met Bill Meek. After a year long courtship they were married. This was the first courtship that lead to marriage at Shawn Manor. They were married in January 2012 and had two and a half years together before Bill’s passing.

She was preceded in death by her parents and both husbands.

Pat is survived by her children and their spouses: Carol Ann Maples and Rodney, Mark Lynn Patterson and Emma, Randy Beth Wilks and Orville; Grandchildren: Mandy Edens and Ross, Brianne Maples, Jordan Maples and Ali, Matthew Wilks, Daniel Wilks and Chelsey, Christopher Patterson and Alexis, Kylie Maples, Nathaniel Patterson and Kayla, and Nicholas Patterson; Great Grandchildren: Beth Edens, Ashton Conner, Tate Conner, Holly Patterson, Zander Patterson and Matthew Patterson.

Services will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, January 26, 2015, at Trout Funeral Home officiated by Don Huddleston of Hartford Avenue Church of Christ. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
