img4b075012ea7b6W. I. N. G. S. stands for Women In God’s Service, and is what we call our ladies ministry under the direction of a WINGS committee consisting of Letha Huddleston, Ann Schroeder, Vickie Williamson, and Kim Birdsong.  These sisters meet often to plan and coordinate an active, balanced program of work and spiritual growth for women of the congregation.  They also serve as a resource for  helping carry out a number of fellowship activities.  A few things which WINGS helps to organize, includes:  Ladies Classes, monthly devotionals, planning special mother/daughter events, promoting area-wide Ladies programs and sponsoring efforts to encourage family members who are serving in the military around the world.  WINGS also helps to plan something special around the Christmas holiday.  The listing below provides a brief glimpse into some of the women’s activities over the past few years.

12.  2011 Women Walking With God Conference

Eleven of our sisters made this year’s WWWG Conference in Wichita.  The theme for this year’s event was “Leaving a Legacy” and it made a lasting impact on every woman who attended.  Gay Webb said, “I don’t intend to ever miss one of those!”

“…things that we have heard and known, that our fathers have told us.  We will not hide them from their children, but tell to the coming generation the glorious deeds of the Lord, and his might, and the wonders that he has done.  He established a testimony in Jacob and appointed a law in Israel, which he commanded our fathers to teach to their children, that the next generation might know the, the children yet unborn, and arise and tell them to their children.”   Psalm 78:3-6

A salad luncheon is planned for the first meeting, and all of our ladies are encouraged to remain for that.  Bring a salad and a friend, and make this an important part of your walk with God.

1.  Women & Girls Brunch

 June 13th, ’09

What I know for Sure (a book by Tabitha Smalley) was the theme for our ladies’ brunch which was held in our fellowship room on Saturday, June 13, 2009.  The tables were decorated with yellow and white tablecloths.  At each place setting there was a journal for the women or young girls in attendance.

Jacquline Nunley, daughter of our own Barbara Moore spoke, choreographed and sang her way to our hearts.  She emphasized that there are some things we can know for sure, such as:’I know my Redeemer lives’ (Jn 17:17); ‘I can trust God because He keeps His promises (Deut.7:9); and ‘He is coming back for His children’.  She encouraged the women to write down in their journals, ‘things I know for sure’ and as the years go by it would become a ‘faith builder’.  Jacquline encouraged the young girls in attendance to feel comfortable by including each to help her with presenting her lecture.  Her lesson focused on our faith in God in all trials, our hope and our love.  At the conclusion of her class she graciously received three plaques that had “faith, hope and love” on them as appreciation for her efforts.  Forty-five women and girls enjoyed the morning with a delicious quiche, mixed fruit and a variety of muffins.
